Overview

The Shapers Portal ("we", "us", "the Portal") is a platform that lets surfboard shapers design, render and sell their boards. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• •Account info: name, email address and role, supplied when you sign in or are invited to the Portal.
• •Shaper profile: brand details, logo, bio, location, social links, payout preferences and bank/PayPal/Wise details you choose to provide.
• •Board designs: shape data, dimensions, colours, hardware placement, AI-enhanced renders and any shaping notes you upload. We store IGES files converted from your uploaded .s3dx or .brd files — we do not store your original editable CAD files.
• •Orders: customer name, email, phone, shipping address, board configuration and order history, whether the order is placed through your configurator, your portal website, synced from Shopify, or entered manually.
• •Payments: payment confirmations, deposit records and, where a customer authorises a final balance charge, a tokenised reference to their saved card. We never store full card numbers — all card processing is handled directly by Stripe.
• •Billing details: for shapers, a tokenised reference to your billing card (brand and last 4 digits only) used to bill platform commissions, and your Stripe Connect account status.
• •Reviews: name, location, rating and review text customers submit about your boards.
• •Usage data: basic logs (page views, errors, IP address) needed to run and debug the service.

How we use your data

• •To operate the Portal — designing, rendering and storing your boards.
• •To process orders, collect deposits and charge agreed balances.
• •To bill platform commissions to your saved billing card.
• •To publish your boards to your connected Shopify store or your portal website, when you ask us to.
• •To send order details to the cut shop or glass shop you choose to work with.
• •To send transactional emails (order confirmations, invoices, account notices, issue reports).
• •To improve the Portal and respond to support requests.

Third-party services

We share data with these processors only as needed to provide the service:

• •Base44: hosting, authentication and database.
• •Stripe: payment processing: customer deposits and balance charges, shaper payouts (Stripe Connect) and commission billing.
• •Shopify: publishing boards and syncing orders with your store (when connected).
• •Cut shops & glass shops: the production partners you choose receive the order details needed to build the board (specs, render, customer name).
• •AI render providers: generating photoreal images from 2D images generated by your CAD data.
• •Email delivery provider: sending transactional emails.
• •Cloudflare Turnstile: bot protection on the welcome screen.

We do not sell your personal data.

Data retention

We keep your account and board data for as long as your account is active. Orders are retained for as long as required by tax and accounting law. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Contact below).

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. EU/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA), you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on managed infrastructure. While no system is perfectly secure, we use industry-standard safeguards and limit access to personal data on a need-to-know basis.

Children

The Portal is intended for use by professional shapers and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted on this page and, where appropriate, communicated by email.
